GRAZIE! GRAZIE! GRAZIE!
It’s hard to believe that it has been nearly 30 years since a dream called Tony Rigatoni’s opened in a little town called Morrison. Attempts to discourage us from opening a restaurant in a town “doomed to extinction” with the advent of C-470 fell upon deaf ears. Our belief that Morrison was Denver’s “nearest faraway place” was bolstered during the days preceding our opening on December 21, 1990. Our time was spent painting, hammering, and greeting countless future guests inquiring as to when we were anticipating opening. We felt successful before we opened the doors!
The next 25 years brought a whirlwind of activity and expansions beyond our wildest dreams. The first year we opened a small patio around our huge cottonwood tree. The second year we expanded the patio to meet the tremendous demand for outdoor seating. We enlarged the kitchen twice to accommodate increased guest counts and built an additional dining room on the second level for additional seating and private parties.
In 2001 we opened Vinny’s Bar on the second level of the building. Vinny’s was a local favorite for 13 years – but we weren’t finished! The popularity of rooftop patios sparked the opening of the Rooftop Tavern – a home for local craft beers and spirits.
The sudden and increasing popularity of our second level prompted us to double the size of our kitchen on the main level. In addition to our Italian menu on the main floor, the menu at Rooftop features an array of salads, panini and popular Tony favorites such as antipasti and mussels. We are constantly looking to improve everything about our little corner in Morrison and we are proud to say that 2019, our 29th year in business, was by far our biggest year yet. And there’s more changes, new menu items, etc, to come.
The amount of success we have enjoyed over the past 29 years is mostly about the loyalty of our guests. Our proudest moments occur when a new guest, faced with a 45 minute wait, is told by a loyal guest that “it’s well worth the wait.” Our commitment to you is to ensure that your visits to our little corner in Morrison will always be worth the wait.
Once again, thanks for making our dream come true.
